Fiona Apple's Extraordinary Album "Extraordinary Machine" Leaked in its Entirety To The Internet

According to FreeFiona.Com, the website where fans have been working vehemently petitioning Sony Music to release her album, Extraordinary Machine,

"3/5/05 MISSION (1/2) ACCOMPLISHED! All 11 songs are now in the hands of Fiona Apple fans".

I can report to you first hand that this information is true. I'm listening to it right now in fact. The album, featuring 11 tracks, is nothing short of a masterpiece. The leak of the album in its entirety is a victory for fans of Fiona, though no official word has been made by anyone in the Fiona camp. I have listened to the album several times since getting it yesterday, and I cannot imagine what Sony is thinking. Is this some sort of promotional scam cooked up by them to see what the interest is? Who knows.

Several tracks from the album have been leaked over the course of the last several months, and with each leak the excitement and momentum from music lovers seems to have built. The album features production and performances from her friend, producer Jon Brion. Jon is best known for the soundtrack to Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, but his legacy in pop music goes much further.

According to reports from Sony Music, who owns Epic, Fiona's record label, the label was unprepared to invest time and promotion in the recording. It was a mutual feeling "between artists and label" that the album was not ready to be released. Wow, do you guys have your heads up your asses? The album has been finished since May of 2003 but Sony has repeatedly added it to its release schedule then dropped it. Why on earth would Sony continue to get cold feet on something that sounds like this? The status of the album is still unknown, but with some efforts you may be able to locate the tracks on your own. There are many internets out there that will have it.

BEFORE YOU EMAIL ME: I would love to send each and every one of you a copy of the album. I would. But I really just don't have the time to do it. With it being out there in the world, you will very likely be able to find it with a little work. I will give you a great example of what you've got in store for you, though. The lyrics sound to me like Fiona saying "FUCK YOU" to the label -- "Give us something familiar/Something similar/To what we know already/That will keep us steady/Steady/Steady Going Nowhere". Right on, Fiona.

UPDATE MARCH 9: La Blogotheque reported that I had a lower quality version of "Please Please Please" up. I don't want people having to listen to a low quality version of the track, so I have provided a MUCH better quality version of both that track and my personal favorite from the CD, the song "Oh Well", as you see below. Enjoy.
